Alcohol Awareness Month
April 1 - 30, 2008
This month, Alcohol Awareness Month is celebrated to raise awareness of alcoholism as a leading health problem in America. Alcoholism affects families, public safety, and health care systems. The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, or NCADD, sponsors this observance and is dedicated to fighting the disease of alcoholism.

Alcoholism impacts the health of Americans in several important ways. Twenty- five percent of all emergency department admissions are alcohol-related. Alcohol abuse is a risk factor for the leading causes of death, including heart disease, cancer, and stroke. In addition, fetal alcohol syndrome is the leading known cause of mental retardation.

Vericom can help you communicate cost-effectively manner with your internal and external customers. Here are some examples of how SoundCare can be used to raise awareness about this issue:

  • Create a SoundView with a recovery or rehabilitation specialist
